About this blog

I am a music collector. Even in the time when all the music in the world is available online, I appreciate physical albums. They are something concrete to hold and investigate while listening. Album art is a significant part of an album and, at best, albums are an ideal concept for listening music. My record collection comprises hundreds of CDs and vinyl records.

Having a record collection this big results in a situation where I won't have time to listen to all of my albums and sometimes I even forget how great some of the albums I own are. This blog is a personal project to go through my whole record collection. I will listen to all of my albums carefully and write about those albums as I go along. I will try to remind myself where I got those albums from, how they have influenced my life, but I will also aim to take more objective views on the album's merits.

I will go through albums in alphabetical order according to album name, rather than the artist name, so I don't have to listen to all the albums by a same artist in a row. This will also give a nice randomness to the order. If I buy new albums, I include them only if they are in the future in this alphabetical order. I will use the alphabetical order as the spreadsheet gives it to me, so any comments about a wrong use of alphabetical order should go to excel.

I am really excited about this project, but hopefully also you will find it interesting.
